The City Stars held the annual End of Season Banquet Monday night in downtown Cleveland. Troy Roberts received recognition from the coaches and his fellow teammates in the awards portion of the evening as the defender was named Player of the Year by the players and Most Valuable Player by the coaches. Also receiving recognition was goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap for his dedication to the team's off the field mission of working in the community. Gilstrap, who just completed his third season in Cleveland, was honored as the City Stars Community Service Award Winner. City Stars Executive Director Aaron Tredway also took the time to honor members of the front office and volunteer staff during the event. Director of Soccer Operations Kevin Carpenter was named Front Office Employee of the Year, Stadium Manager Terry Lawriw was awarded the Outstanding Service Award and Volunteer Coordinator Joan Ibbett was named the Volunteer of the Year. "The banquet was a great way to end the season," said Tredway. "The season may have not gone the way we all wanted it to but this is a great group and I'm honored to have worked with these players, coaches and staff members."
